Wow. I had a TOTALLY different experience with Ms. Glasgow. My son was in her class this year and because of his IEP I was able to meet with her more than most. I can see how her short and to the point emails can make her seem a bit cold but I truly found her to be warm, honest, helpful and caring. My son really liked her too! I completely agree with her response in reguards to homework. She even gave me very helpful tips (upon request) on how to incorporate what they were learning at home. Not by sending home more work but by giving me helpful tips on how I could incorporate it more. For example, my son was struggling with money concepts. She said I should keep a jar of change in the kitchen and make him “pay” for his dinner or snacks. I don’t know about the review thing but I do know that she gives plenty of notifications of when the test will take place so that I can prepare him. I am not saying that your feelings are misplaced. I am sorry that you and I had a very different experience this year with Ms. Glasgow but I strongly disagree with your opinion that she shouldn’t be a teacher anymore. She is a wonderful teacher! Perhaps, it was more so the placement of your child then the teacher. Perhaps next year they will put your child in a class that better suits her needs.

My child was in the 2nd grade class this year, Mrs. Glasgow to be exact. From the beginning of the school year Mrs. Glasgow would not support the families with the ability to reinforce school work at home. She would not send much homework because “I work them really hard during the day.” Well despite constant requests to assist parents with a way to help our children she refused. I just found out that the 2nd grade teachers would give review prior to each test. This teacher did not. She is not a nice person to the students and should not be allowed to teach any longer because she makes her own rules up and doesn’t follow the rules and guidelines of PG County Schools.
