The worst middle school in Montgomery County for special needs kids. Well documented harassment and abuse of special needs children and their families. Parents, make sure you record ALL IEP meetings, NEVER allow this school to do a psyc eval on your child. They predetermine the outcome and generate a false psyc eval to justify their predetermination. Simply the worst possible experience for special needs children.

            2. Oh man. I went for a tour of this school for my neurodiverse child and got a really bad vibe. Utter craziness… the hallways were madness — one child (male) literally ran directly into another (female) at full speed and said nothing and neither did my tour guide. (Although she did emphasize that she had her PhD and felt utterly at home with the 8th grade curriculum which I called B.S. on — no professional could be satisfied with the Pearson curriculum disaster the past 9 years. She simply humphed at my rebuttal.)

I went to see the ‘vaunted’ twice exceptional program. Sat in an executive function class for 2 minutes exactly when my tour guide unilaterally said that I had seen enough. Suffice it to say — not at all exceptional. Glad we took a different path. What a disaster — but can’t be worse than Robert Frost Middle for neuro-diverse kids though? (This joint, at least, doesn’t have rotating A and B days…)

GT/LD was the best thing for our son. NBMS is a big diverse school so you have to be able to navigate that outside the small program. The teachers and administrators that looked out for him we’re excellent! Not all teachers were. When changes needed to be made they did it. When he needed a special thing they tried their best to accommodate.
But they wanted to fall back into putting him into general labels too like most schools. And no changes would of happened if I wasn’t actively pursuing it. The parents must be the driving force and will have to be for these kids the rest of their lives. But if you work with them they will work with you. We are appreciative of our NBMS experience.
I do believe science and writing could of been more challenging!
