Nora has been wonderful for our daughter and our family. It’s a great school for students who learn (and maybe live) a little differently. The teachers are great at inspiring the students and providing interesting, challenging material to every student. The other students, faculty and staff all create a supportive, nurturing, comfortable environment. The building is beautiful.

While not a special education school, Nora makes accommodations for kids with diverse learning styles. Very inclusive of different learning styles, race, gender identity, etc. Teachers are responsive, admin keeps a good eye on things. My son was very frustrated in MCPS before attending Nora, he’s now thriving in college.

Great place. Hard to sum up in a word or two. They seem to treat each kid where they are rather than forcing them all toward the same end. At least that’s my experience. The Head of School is a smart and friendly guy, been there a long time. I had no idea it was there but so glad we found it!
Generally agree with these comments but do proceed with caution. There are a lot of drugs circulating around the school — maybe not more than MCPS, but it’s certainly not a haven in this regard. If you have a susceptible kid, you should consider this.
